Discover the Capability of the 2020 Jeep Gladiator

Jeep returns after a long hiatus with a new pickup truck design, the 2020 Jeep Gladiator. Perfect for towing a boat and throwing extra gear in the bed, this is a vehicle meant for a long weekend adventure that necessitates bringing all the toys along. There are three Gladiator trim options for Lexington Park drivers to consider, including the Gladiator Sport, Overland, and Rubicon. There's also an optional diesel engine that will become available later in the model year.

All trims offer a 3.6-liter V6 engine with 285 horsepower as standard. Optional upgrades include a 260-horsepower V6 with diesel. The towing capacity is up to 7,650 pounds, powered by a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission and 260 pound-feet of torque. The payload capability of the Gladiator is 1,600 pounds, enough for a pair of motorcycles and plenty of gear for your Lusby adventures. Drivers can expect 17 miles per gallon around town and 22 on the highway from the gas-powered engine.

The Gladiator's exterior will remind Jeep fans of the Wrangler, with the boxy silhouette, rugged design, and high undercarriage clearance so characteristic of the brand. There are 33-inch nubby tires for digging in on muddy trails and clambering over boulders in and around Prince Frederick. The bed of the truck measures five feet in length and almost as much in width, and the tailgate can be positioned at three different angles for more versatility when hauling long objects. The interior is utilitarian, with an ergonomic layout of the dashboard and rugged upholstery on the seating. The rear seating area is surprisingly roomy, offering best in class legroom for rear passengers.

Technology in the Gladiator mirrors the Wrangler, with a UConnect system for syncing smartphones with the five-inch touchscreen. Optional upgrades include an eight-inch screen that supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and your favorite satellite radio options. Optional safety features include convenient driver aids like cross-traffic warnings, front collision alarms, adaptive cruise control, and a camera that allows the driver to see the trail ahead when at an angle that wouldn't allow for ordinary viewing.

Upgrade your Waldorf excursions from behind the wheel of the 2020 Gladiator, coming soon to Fitzgerald Auto Mall Lexington Park.
